Certainty and Confidence

John wrote his epistle to in order that we might have assurance of our salvation through Jesus Christ. Assurance leads to confidence in prayer, and that leads to our making intercession for brethren who fall into sin; but there is a sin unto death, and that is the sin of the heretics who deny Christ.
