What is in the book of 1 Kings?
1 Kings records the death of David and Solomon's subsequent reign. The book recounts the building of the temple and the dividing of the kingdom after Solomon's death. The book also covers the prophetic ministry of Elijah, with such incidents as the contest with the prophets of Baal.
Summary Statement: 1 Kings shows the curse of sin is death, so all who have sinned will die and the only hope is in God who raises the dead.
