Old Covenant Worship Was Regulated

Even the Old Covenant worship was regulated. How could the New Covenant be a 'better' covenant if we were left to ourselves to determine what was appropriate for the proper worship of God and what wasn't. It would be weaker by virtue of our own fallenness and the noetic effect of sin. God still regulates our worship of Him by His Word. It would be sin for us to offer up anything to the Lord that He has not asked for.
