Good Works
Series Heidelberg Catechism 2015
The catechism discusses the idea of Good Works, which are the reward of God's Grace. The concept of Good Works applies to our Sanctification and living out our faith, not in our Justification by our Lord Jesus Christ. We are not saved by our Good Works, but by Christ alone. When we have the Holy Spirit living in us, we cannot help but live a life of thankfulness for our salvation. Just because we have been saved by nothing of our own, does not mean we can careless in the way we live our life. This topic is one that is often a source of confusion. We have been saved by Christ alone (Justified). Out of the Holy Spirit dwelling within us and from our thankfulness for this salvation, we must live a life that is pleasing to God. The various aspects of Good Works are discussed in detail and how they apply to our life.
