Introduction
Prototype—a first, typical or preliminary model of something, from which other forms are developed or copied
I. Eve stands in judgment of God’s Word (1,2)
A. Satan gets Eve to distrust God’s Word
B. We can see God’s Word as subordinate to our desires
II. Eve believes that God’s commands are too strict (2,3)
A. Eve exaggerates God’s commands, making them seem stricter
B. We come to view God’s commands as burdens
III. Eve makes Satan her father and her god (4,5)
A. Satan calls God a liar; Eve agrees
B. Elohim vs. Yahweh Elohim
IV. Eve seeks satisfaction apart from God (5,6)
A. Physical—‘good for food’
B. Material—‘a delight to the eyes’
C. Intellectual—‘to be desired to make one wise’
