The Jews rejected Jesus' claims of being divine and coming from Heaven because of their empirical {lost} mindset. Jesus could not convince them via empiricism the truth of His claims so He says the Father will convince those whom He has called of the truth of His salvation; in other words, making faith irrational to the empirical mindset.
