'False witnesses... At last, two came forward and said: 'This man [Jesus] said: 'I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to rebuild it in three days''' (Matt. 26:60-61).
'They set up false witness who said: 'This man [Stephen] never ceases to speak words against this holy place and the law, for we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and will change the customs that Moses delivered to us'' (Acts 6:13-14).
'The Jews who have believed... are all zealous for the law, and they have been told about you [Paul] that you teach all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children and walk according to our customs... The Jews from Asia... laid hands on [Paul], crying out: 'Men of Israel, help! This is the man who is teaching everyone everywhere against the people and this holy place'' (Acts 21:20-21,27-28).
