The Message of John's Gospel

Main Point: Trust the risen Christ, receive His life, and talk to others about Him.

Sermon Outline:

1. John is the book of written signs (John 20:30-31, 2:18).
2. The first three written signs are turning water into wine, healing the nobleman’s son, and the Sabbath healing of the paralytic at Bethesda (2:8-11, 4:49-51, 5:8-9).
3. The second three written signs are feeding the five thousand, walking on water, and the Sabbath healing of the blind man (6:10-14, 5:19, 9:10-11).
4. The seventh sign is the raising of Lazarus; it points you to the great sign of Christ’s resurrection (11:43-44, 2:18-21).
5. The purpose of these signs is that you would trust the risen Son of God and receive His life (20:26-29, 30-31).
6. Now you are a witness obliged to testify to others about Him (30-31).
