1 Thessalonians Series 6

Here we have a glimpse of the early church. This passage provides an 'elementary constitution, or organizational structure.' The indefiniteness is significant. Absent are mentions of ordination, official titles, and sharp divisions of labor. The best workers are not necessarily those with official functions. This is especially the case with women, upon whom we probably depend for more things than men. (Fallen Condition Focus): It is disastrous to assume Christians automatically understand their duties and are motivated to persevere in them.
