No Defense

Jesus endured a total of six trials by the Jewish and Roman authorities in Jerusalem, a few of which are detailed here in Luke. Many words were said. Many accusations were made. Many actions were taken. But there was one glaring omission from the legal proceedings - a defense! Why did Jesus not defend His position? Why did He not plainly answer their questions about His identity? Why did He not stand up for justice? The truth? Himself?
