SIN ISSUES AND THE CONSCIENCE

-- WEAK BROTHER

• Conscience cannot be guide - we are depraved
• Conscience can be weak, misinformed, abused.

-- STRONG BROTHER

• The stronger brother causing someone else to fall in liberty is sinning.
• Must be knowledgeable to one another's strengths and weaknesses.
• Be sensitive to one another's views and issues
• Church should be open, not Pharisaic. Should be atmosphere of encouraging.
• Christian liberty should not be stumbling blaock to weak, immature Christian.
• Discipleship isn't instailling self beliefs in another, but encouraging others to grow themselves in knowledge of God
• Application: Christ died for your Christian brother, why would you try to take him down.

-- STRONGEST BROTHER

• Knows liberties as Christian, but employs them wisely in presence of others
• If issue - consider and prefer, but not necessarily accommodate.
• Consider if issue is more important than brother
• Most issues aren't problem in and of self - there is a philosophical base
