Light at the End of the Tunnel

The journey from Moab was for both Naomi and Ruth a trip that took place in the shadows. Naomi was overwhelmed by grief and bitterness of heart, and had concluded that, for her, life was over. She was going home to wait for the end. But Ruth was conscious that she was leaving her dark past behind her. She was, with her faith in the promises of God, full of expectation for the future. She did not know what would happen, but she knew that, whatever it was, she would never again return to her old life of idolatry and perversion.
