Jesus is God's Strong Arm

81

Sometimes events in today's news compel us to cast our eyes upon Jesus as altogether superior a savior to anything that poor weak men can accomplish.

This week, a large part of the world was watching attempts to rescue a five year old boy named Rayan who fell down a well in Morocco and lodged at a depth of 100 feet below the ground.

They worked frantically for four days to dig him out of the well, using many strong and powerful men who had experience in construction, and large earth moving equipment. All the while, there was the danger of a collapse that would bury both the little boy and his rescuers.

There were crowds of neighbors looking on from nearby and supporting and helping in any way they could.

Around lunchtime Saturday, the news reported that the child had been retrieved from the well. Some of my Middle Eastern Facebook friends almost immediately reported that Rayan had not survived, but it took the press 3 hours to confirm that the child had died.

Sometimes no matter how much effort, strength, courage, heart, resources, support and goodwill there is, helpless lives are lost and cannot be rescued, not with all our might and determination.

This ought to turn every believer's heart to reflect on just how mighty our Lord Jesus is to save His loved ones!

Our thoughts on these matters have been so polluted by the false idea that Jesus tries to save everybody, but mostly He fails because lost men won't cooperate.

Does our Redeemer have a high failure rate?

The answer from Scripture is certainly NO. Christ saves all of His sheep. He redeems every one that His Father has given Him!

Christ is God's Strong Arm to save all of His people!
