Constancy of Offerings in OT

59

The book of Leviticus speaks to the abundance of sacrifices and offerings that were a continuous part of the Old Testament sacrificial process. It was never ending simply because people continued to sin and those sacrifices were never meant to actually REMOVE sin, but to simply COVER it.

It was not until the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus that sin was dealt with once for all and those who come to Him in faith believing in His substitutionary life and death on our behalf gain salvation.

Salvation - whether in the Old Testament or New (including today) - is always granted based on one thing: FAITH. However, in the Old Testament, God required the sacrificial system in order to maintain FELLOWSHIP with Him.

Aren't you glad you don't have to bring physical sacrifices to God for the covering of your sin and to remain in fellowship with Him?
