Zechariah's Second Burden - The Cleansing of David's House and Kingdom

The next section of the burden shifts the emphasis, but not the prophetic time frame or circumstance. This means that the cleansing promised in the first part of chapter thirteen was to occur in conjunction with the deliverance and mourning predicted in chapter twelve. Deliverance and penitent mourning were not the Lord's ultimate intent in arising on behalf of David's house and kingdom. Those things were unto the greater goal of the full purging of Zion and her children.
