The Need For Doctrinal Thinking

The great doctrines and covenant promises of the Bible are the foundation of our assurance and hope in salvation. We gain assurance not by looking inward but by looking outward to the promise of redemption in Christ. In almost every New Testament book we are warned of false teachers who will seek to lead us astray from the hope of the gospel. Our sure defense against false doctrine and that which will equip us to rightly serve God is the doctrines of God. Building our lives on the sure foundation of Biblical doctrine will prepare us for rightly serving God and help us stand in the day of trial and testing.
