How to Hear from God

God desires to communicate with us and in fact, He has taken the initiative to do so. However, there are many voices claiming to speak for God, so how can we discern what God is saying? In this passage in which God does speak to Samuel, we learn some lessons on how to hear from God, though the method isn't the same, there are principles that are helpful.
