Water Walkers

275

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be per-fect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives gen-erously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. James 1:2-8 ESV

We don't always count it joy when we go through trial. He isn't saying to simply rejoice in the tri-als. He is saying to rejoice in the fact that the trials can bring greater strength to our faith. Wheth-er that happens or not has everything to do with how we respond to the trials.
But it is tough not to doubt at times. I'm not talking about doubting who the Lord is. Peter didn't do that. It is tough not to doubt that God is in control when things look completely out of control in our lives.
