So Great a Salvation

The Salvation of your souls:

A. Was the pursuit of all the prophets - V10

1. From Moses to Malachi their focus was understanding, seeking God's truth.
2. They wanted to understand this Messiah that was coming
3. Some died for the little piece of truth they had
4. They had shadows and types, we have history Hebrews 11:39-40
5. Ephesians 2:8-9

B. Predicted by the Spirit's Inspiration v11

1. The prophets were divinely inspired - Jeremiah 1:9 & 23:28
2. The message is about Christ, our suffering savior, and the glories to follow

C. Preached by God's Children v12

1. The gospel message was a summons which pulled people from slavery of sin to an understanding of the Savior which resulted in people becoming gloriously saved
2. Focus on the point of scripture, the author and perfecter of our faith
3. Revelation 7:9-12 - someone told them about Christ

D. Angels desire to look into V12

1. 1 Timothy 3:16
2. Angels announced Christ's birth and resurrection; and declared God's judgement on earth
3. Angels don't understand the salvation we have
4. Angles celebrate every time a human is born again

May we have a heart to say, God make me like you; whatever it takes.
