Pray to the Throne for Lesser gods

This Sunday we will hear from Paul words of encouragement given to Timothy and to the church in every place and age, how and for what they are to pray. Pray for those in power and those who submit to the Highest Power, even Christ Jesus who alone is Mediator between God and man. Our prayers for lesser powers are directed to the Higher Power. We do not pray or think of our president or any other early leaders as we do the One who was raised to the exalted-throne of heaven and earth. Praying for those in power reminds us, reminds them and reminds others that they are but, like all things, under the control of Almighty God.
