Cornelius

The gospel has no effect on the natural man (I Cor 2:14). The purpose of the gospel is to convert those with the "ears to hear" who have been born again by the direct and immediate power of the Holy Spirit of God. Cornelius was a devout and God-fearing child of God who found rest in the gospel light that Peter preached to him.
