Opening our mouth in prayer

Are our expectations too small when offering prayer to God in Christ's name? Are our expectations in prayer hindering God's display of His glory and power in answering because they ask so little? Are our expectations in prayer hindering our attempts to labour for the Lord in that they ask for nothing in comparison to what God can and is willing to give? In the words of William Carey we should “Expect great things from God and attempt great things for God.”
In the last phrase of our text we are commanded to open our mouth wide and God promises that He will fill it.The consideration of the foundation and the fullness of the promise encourages the child of God to obey the command.
