Life's Curves, Detours & Potholes

Last Sunday morning we introduced a new series in the book of Ruth. Many readers of the Bible enjoy and treasure the book of Ruth as a wonderful, tender story of love, family, friendship and loyalty. It is all of that, but Ruth is mostly a book about God. Ruth is not in the Bible because of its charm or literary value, but because of its value as the revelation of the living God. Ruth may be small in size, but it's large in content! This morning we want to begin to examine the narrative more closely. Life doesn't always turn out the way we thought it would or should. When you get out onto the highways and byways of life, you will encounter curves, detours and potholes....
