Betrayal and Arrest of Jesus

Throughout church history, many unbelievers have looked at the arrest of Jesus, his subsequent crucifixion, and concluded that Jesus' attempt to usher in the kingdom failed miserably. But nothing could be further from the truth. Jesus was not caught off guard in the least. In fact, everything is going according to plan, so that Jesus can achieve the greatest victory in the history of mankind—the salvation of God's elect. Upon closer examination, the betrayal of Judas, the protection of the disciples, the healing of Malkus, and even Jesus'
arrest actually illustrate the sovereignty of God.
