Mordecai hears about an assassination attempt being planned against Xerxes and informs Esther, who then in turn warns the king. But also, Haman shrewdly leads the pagan king to approve a plot to exterminate all the Jews in the Persian Empire. Haman is one of the early anti-Semites used by Satan to dry and destroy the coming Messiah.
