Teach us to Pray

Slow down here, Luke is going to show us how the Lord Jesus prepared His disciples for ministry after His departure.
A humble person will submit himself to the world of God. You can't start discipleship without humility. Humble people pray. Studying God's word and praying are the two primary responsibilities of a disciple. Prayer, based on the word, is a critical issue in coming to salvation. We are dependent. The Christian life continues in dependent prayer. If there is any reality to our Christianity, we will be praying. There is no godly person in Scripture who is prayerless. Conversely, Scripture condemns the wicked for their prayerlessness. God requires us to pray, not because of a need in Him, but because of a need in us. God has filled the act of praying with blessings. During prayer, something is happening in you. We learn dependence. I is impossible to exaggerate the importance of prayer. So the question is, "Do you pray?" Luke emphasises Jesus' prayer life. Jesus prayed throughout His life, and he died praying. Jesus, as a man, made Himself truly dependent on the Father. Jesus subjected Himself to the complete human experience. Jesus is the model of the godly human life. If the story of your life was written, would it constantly be said, "He prayed"? Learn to pray, and pray correctly. We can easily pray wrongly. Whole churches sometimes cultivate a prayer environment that is useless and wrong. Jesus assumes that Christians are praying, and praying correctly. And he knows that some will even pray if God were removed from the picture because they are praying to be seen. How and what you pray reveals what you believe. How would I pray if I truly believed?
