Loving Our Enemies

We will, no doubt, find it difficult and challenging in dealing with our enemies, whether those who are against us are personal enemies, or enemies of the church.

A lesson we are encouraged to learn, is to distinguish enemies from critical friends, there may be after all, things that we need to hear, and constructive criticism may be an act of love.

We should be slow to automatically describe people as enemies. Indeed, love tries to keep people 'onside'. We should guard against paranoia, and not try to 'over interpret' things, and we should ensure that our behaviour doesn't cause us, ourselves, to actually make enemies.
