10 Irresistible

In the preaching of Christ, divine power is unleashed to enable us to follow and serve Him.

If you hear nothing else, hear this: The preaching of Christ is the ordinary instrument God ordinarily uses to empower people to profess faith in Christ and to live according to that profession.

3 Observations concerning this power:

1. The power of the command.
   A) the general call
   B) the Effectual call

2. The power of conversion.
   "They preferred the call of Christ to all worldly affairs." John Calvin

3. The power of confirmation. The signs of confirmation were not given to affirm the disciples faith, but to affirm Christ's claim to divinity.
