CC # 125 God hardened Pharaoh's heart Exodus 7

  1. Israel is in Egypt for a gospel testimony.
  2. God has purposefully brought His people under bondage through Pharaoh that He may teach the matters of salvation.
  3. Salvation is a setting free of God's people from the slavery and burdens of sin as was was pictured by the slavery of Israel.
  4. And the matter of sin and Law and its relationship is played out in this Egyptian drama of Christ. Sin and Law always work together to produce slavery and death as the outcome, from which God's people have to be set free by God through His appointed MEDIATOR.
  5. But in building this testimony-God unashamedly said-He was going to HARDEN Pharaoh's heart so that Pharaoh would not do the very thing that God commanded him to do and yet held him responsible/accountable.
  6. And God had a reason for that-so that in hardening Pharaoh, God would show His power. So, God actively hardens Pharaoh and anyone for that matter for the purpose of His glory.
  7. Hardening of someone's heart causes UNBELIEF and DISOBEDIENCE. And it is SIN . But God claims that He hardened Pharaoh's heart and yet He can't be charged with sin, because He is God and you and I are NOT.
  8. Many people rush to try and protect God, but God does not need protection from anyone, whom He wills HE HARDENS. And this hardening we see in the gospel matter. God is He who hardens people to not believe or softens their hearts to turn and be saved.
  9. The POINT IS THAT GOD IS ABSOLUTELY SOVEREIGN OVER HIS Creation and He cannot be charged with DOING ANY WRONG over the disposal of that which belongs to Him.
    10.. The Matter of God's sovereignty in all things reveals PEOPLE'
