Jesus' Example to Teenagers

Our youth are growing up wild and unrestrained and disrespectful of their parents. The result is failure in later life, and the dissolution of society at large. The family and the church are crucial to the raising of young people for the glory of God.

Unfortunately, teenagers are often rebellious, lazy, and selfish, but by then it's too late for the parents to do anything to save them.

Our Lord Jesus set a perfect example in His youth. The Scriptures tell us He grew as a teenager in wisdom and stature. He was an earnest and focused young man. His parents assumed He would be playing with His friends, but instead He was in the temple, studying and learning and teaching. He was eager to learn and teach the matters of God, and to be about His father's business.

He obeyed His parents and was subject to them. This example of Christ ought to be preached to our young people in our homes and churches.

How rare it is to find a young male child who is that focused on something other than himself. Mostly they try to avoid doing their chores, or studying their lessons, or helping other people around them.

Our Lord Jesus, at that early age, was studying to be God's Lamb to take away our sin.

It is that very wisdom of Christ that becomes our wisdom, for on the whole, we are a weak and foolish lot!

It is God's purpose to save the weak and the foolish, so that He might get all the glory! He will take us and make us His glorious people, beautifying and adorning us with the qualities that we ourselves do not possess.

No matter how humble a condition we come from, God has made Jesus to us our wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption!
