Our fifth heading in this biographical study of Mary is, "Mary in Jerusalem," Luke 2:22-39a. Mary and Joseph go to Jerusalem for the purposes of making the purification offerings for her ceremonial uncleanness and of consecrating their first born son. There they encounter Simeon and Anna. Mary was a humble and obedient woman of God who yet needed a Saviour.
