Fruit and Thorns

In these verses the author clarifies what he has just said in vs.4-6, thus confirming that Hebrews 6 is not saying that people can lose their salvation, but rather warning that it's possible for people to experience the bounty of God and yet fail to produce real fruit, i.e., stubbornly refuse to believe. The sermon shows that the earth or soil represents people and when it doesn't bring forth good fruit after drinking in the rain that it is burned up along with the thorns and thistles.
