Living a Full Life - Message 3 - Full Light. John gives us next a Social Test for Assurance. This test involves more than obedience in general (as in the Moral Test - 2:1-6) as it demonstrates that we belong to Christ by obeying a specific command, loving our brothers, and even loving our enemies. To make practical application of this test for assurance John writes to three ages or stages of believers - new believers, mature believers, and young growing believers.
