Facing the Music

164 ( 131 | 33 )

There is coming a day when all people will have to stand before Jesus Christ to receive their personal, public and eternal judgment; a day when all actions and motives done on earth, whether good or bad, will be revealed and repaid according to their due. In other words as they say we all must face the music!
Though all people are judged based upon their works, no one is saved based upon their works. People are saved based upon repentance and faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. If you have been saved, God has made you a new creation. As God makes us new, desires to strive earnestly to be pleasing to Him develop within us. So God’s saving grace in us compels us to walk in the path of doing good works. But doing good works apart from faith in Jesus Christ is ultimately unacceptable to God because they are wrongly motivated. The fatal flaw is that these works then spring from the heart of a proud rebel instead of out of love for God. And if you don’t love Jesus, you don’t love God!
So on that day will you be ready to face the music?
When you stand before God, and your works are judged, sentence is given and the gavel is lowered, be sure that the Judge who is Jesus has already been judged in your place at Calvary’s cross for your eternal salvation. Otherwise it is only eternal damnation that awaits no matter how many good works are done in your life.
