Love and Truth

1. Greeting
   a. Love: Sacrificial, unconditional choice to benefit the other
   without expectation of a return.
   b. Truth: "The self-expression of God"

–Speaking the truth in love requires that we know the entire Biblical revelation about God and life, and that we express this truth for others' benefit, gladly accepting personal loss and having no expectation of personal gain.

2. Comments on truth
   a. Truth is joy to the elder.
   b. Truth is commanded by the Father.
3. Comments on love
   a. Love for each other became a new emphasis with Jesus.
   b. Love for God is to keep his commandments.
