Joint Heirs & Placement as Sons

This text defines for us what the 'adoption' means. We know that we are now the sons of God, but there is a time when we are changed from this present bodily weakness into the same body in which our Lord Jesus was raised after His resurrection. However, until then the whole creation groans together in pain waiting for that day that the sons of God manifested. This is the time when our body is redeemed. This is the first resurrection. Then the whole creation shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. So, Paul reminds us of our hope, that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us at the adoption - the manifestation of the sons of God.
