Internal Conflict Resolution

Nestled in the larger narrative of God's blessing David are several smaller narratives that tell the story, each bringing their own contribution. Here, we see internal war as Israel had to work and fight its way through the reigning families’ conflict with an eye toward eventual resolution. This greater perspective was lost on one young man when youthful ambition prevails over wisdom at a great cost. He loses his life and simultaneously makes future unification of the two leading generals improbable if not impossible.
