Refuting Calvin's 3 Uses of the Law (Pt. 1)
Series New Covenant Theology, Etc.
278
While John Calvin was an extraordinary theologian he was not without fault. His famous three uses for the Mosaic Law exhibit a flawed conclusion based on a flawed hermeneutic principle. In this message we look at the first of those three uses, the idea that the Law is meant to be used by modern Christians to drive unbelievers to Christ. In fact the Law was never given to gentiles; but only to Old Covenant Jews. Understanding context is vital to accurate application of Biblical texts.
