One More Night With The Frogs

229 ( 145 | 84 )

Sometimes God's people suffer the same troubles as everyone else, even God's enemies. Sometimes God puts special protection on us, but it is always for God's glory. God describes how numerous the frog plague would be. Then when Moses asks Pharaoh when should the plague go away and Pharaoh says tomorrow. Sin has an insanity problem where even if we want to change our sin nature wants us to keep the sin(s) around for a little while longer. Moses and Aaron only do what the Lord tells them. When Moses desired a change, in this case making the frogs go away, Moses cries out to the Lord for the change. Moses did not command God to do anything. We are utterly dependent on God's daily provision. If you are in Christ, you should be in a position to cry out to the Lord to ask Him to do what He says He will do. In our human nature it is typical for us to not be as dependable as we would like. Many times we will say we will do something and it will not happen. God, on the other hand, always keeps His promises. God's people are not exempt from living in the fallen world. However, God's people should respond differently to the trials and fallenness of this world. There are times that God will display His glory either by allowing us to go through hardship or by protecting us from going through hardship, either time, God gets the glory.
