Devoted to the Fellowship

As we study the New Testament's use of this word translated "fellowship" in Acts 2:42, we learn that this sharing, this communion, this participation, this contribution, partnership (some other ways the Greek word "koinoinia" is translated) is woven throughout the life of the early church and embedded in what it means to be a Christian in relation to God and to other disciples of Jesus Christ. The whole basis of fellowship among the people of God is based upon the one God's own fellowship within himself as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit have in eternity been in perfect communion and love with one another. Thus the living members of the church share mutually in a common salvation, worship, mutual caring, and mutual (shared) witness to the world. Our link and union with God and his people in never-ending bonds of fellowship is a grace gift of our kind Heavenly Father.
