The Departure of the Glory
Series Ezekiel
139 ( 90 | 49 )
In these chapters Ezekiel is shown God vacating His own temple - shocking news for the exiles in Babylon! What should shock us is not God’s judgement against His own people but the exposure of their persistent detestable idolatry in His very dwelling place!
However, God has not completely abandoned His people. Instead, he goes into exile with them. He will yet restore them to the land and restore their hearts to Himself.
God is jealous for His temple – that it be a place of true, undefiled worship. We are the temple of the living God. Where idolatry exists in our lives it is not hidden from the One who redeemed us to be His holy dwelling place – the habitation of His glory.
