Changeless

One thing that doesn't change about life and that is, LIFE CHANGES! We live in a fast changing world. And while we might like for life to be settled, the same, routine, we find that people and situations are constantly changing around us. But there is One who does not change, who is not susceptible to change-- and that person is GOD. Our God is changeless. In this sermon, we explore the immutability or changelessness of God. God in His essential being does not change. His character, purposes, and Word remain the same. Those passages of Scripture where it appears that God has changed his mind can be explained as viewing God from a human perspective. Man changes and thus God changes in the way He deals with man. Because God does not change, we have a supreme object of worship. We have absolute assurance of our salvation. God isn't going to change the requirements next year for salvation. Because God does not change, we can have comfort in God's presence. God is not moody, loving one minute, bite your head off the next. Because God is changeless, we can have confidence in God's Word. His standard of morality does not change. And the promises He has made He will keep. Because God remains the same, we can experience certainty in our uncertain world-- a sense of peace, serenity, and security.
