Preparing for Arrest: Division & Opposition

When you read in the historical record that Jesus was arrested, it is hardly a surprise. There is not a sudden twist in the plot, as if Jesus had been talking to happy crowds, with smiling babies on his lap, and then suddenly was snatched away by the authorities. Conflict and division marked much of the last 18 months of His ministry, and it's actually surprising that He wasn't arrested until He was.
