Job Vs. Evangelicals

334 ( 259 | 75 )

I Text:
18 Then I said, I shall die in my nest, and I shall multiply [my] days as the sand. 19 My root [was] spread out by the waters, and the dew lay all night upon my branch. 20 My glory [was] fresh in me, and my bow was renewed in my hand. 21 Unto me [men] gave ear, and waited, and kept silence at my counsel. 22 After my words they spake not again; and my speech dropped upon them. 23 And they waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide [as] for the latter rain. 24 [If] I laughed on them, they believed [it] not; and the light of my countenance they cast not down. 25 I chose out their way, and sat chief, and dwelt as a king in the army, as one [that] comforteth the mourners.
II Doctrine:
Job was “more equal” than other Men in God’s eyes because of an active faith. Job maximized the spiritual gifts God gave him and embodied the “Spirit of the Law”. Men around Job recognized him as a superior Man of faith. In thinking God’s thoughts after him Job was aligned with the thoughts of the almighty. The God of the Bible is above all God’s and His Son Jesus Christ is King. We are equal in only two ways before God. We are all sinners before him, and we all have equal access to redemption through Jesus Christ. There is no room for egalitarian humanism in the Christian faith. It is a scheme of the Devil that makes all things irrationally equal including Man with God!
III Reasons:

  1. In the real world around us we see a variety of abilities amongst God’s creatures. Is the rabbit going to tell the Lion he is just as strong? Must we tell the turtle he is just as fast as the cheetah?
  2. If everyone is declared a winner
