The Black Parade

When Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey, he fulfilled yet another old prophecy about the Messiah. It was a parade of sorts, but there was a black cloud hanging over the event, if you like. A storm was coming from God to wreak havoc within the soul of Jesus itself.

The episode was one of contrasts. Jesus was King, yet he rode in on a donkey. It was a triumphant entry, but tinged with sorrow. And he received some praise, but it was short lived. We learn that the way of Jesus is not about pomp and honour but involves suffering, albeit with great joy.
