The King Who Saves From Sin

Jesus is a King, the Son of David. Matthew 1:18-25 helps to explain how this is. The story of Jesus' birth and the appearances to Joseph explain how Matthew 1:16 is true, that Jesus is the son of Joseph through Mary. The claim that Jesus is born of a virgin is even more startling, with Matthew quoting from Isaiah 7 to prove that Jesus' birth is no mere normality. Rather, it is the supernatural birth of Messiah, as promised before by the prophets. As the people of Judah were saved before from the destruction of invaders, so now Messiah has come to save His people from their sins.
