What is the Meaning of This?

Surprise, astonishment and wonder, were experienced by those who evidenced the supernatural events on The Day of Pentecost. Unlearned men speaking in known languages and dialects, visible tongues of fire appearing over them, a rushing mighty wind, what did all this mean? Are we to expect the same today?

The clear teaching of Scripture is that the supernatural, and powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit, gave the Apostles the ability to describe the “wonderful works of God” in languages that could be understood by those present in Jerusalem. Scripture teaches that part of the work of The Holy Spirit; is to convict of sin, of righteousness and of judgement. This conviction over what they had done was indeed the experience of many who heard the Apostles speak.

Essentially the work of The Holy Spirit; is to point people to The Lord Jesus Christ. These things are written, that we might give our hearts to Him, might yield our lives to Him. Where do you stand, what is your response?
