Christ's Assessment of the Church at Sardis

Sardis, the church that stopped watching. Christ's report was that this church was dead, though evidently she had a name in the city as those that lived. Which report matters, Christ's or others? There were a few, only a precious few saints there that were faithful. What should they do in light of Christ's assessment of this body? What should we do if it were true of the church where we are?
