Coping With Life's Disappointments

After death Sisyphus, the mythical king of Corinth, is consigned to an eternity of futile & hopeless labor & unending frustration. As punishment for his brashness & arrogance he is made to roll a heavy rock uphill AND just as he reaches the top, under the strain of the weight of the rock & weariness, Sisyphus loses control & the rock rolls down the hill and he bgeins pushing the rock uphill again . . . Sometimes we feel like Sisyphus - we labor & sweat but it results in barrenness & frustration which leads to disappointment. The greatest response to disappointment is nearness to God.
