Faithful Through the Faults of Others

197

Trusting Through the Transgressions of Another

If grace isn't leading you there, you probably ought not go.

On the other hand, if grace didn't lead you there, don't let pride keep you there.

Grace won't lead you just anywhere... but there's nowhere, it cannot rescue you from.

Grace may not have led you where you are today, but remember this: grace knows where you are, therefore, He will find you right where you are and lead you where you should be.

So don't think like a fool and ride your pride... confess your mess and turn your face toward His grace. There's no reason your mess ups need to keep messing you up. And while we're here, the mess ups of others don't have to mess you up.

Sarah didn't let Abraham's mess up, mess her up... she stayed the course when he let the path (Genesis 12 ; 20). Grace didn't lead him to think and act like a fool... but grace, regardless of Abraham's foolishness, led Sarah to trust God right where Abraham was misleading her and those they were among. His mess up didn't mess her up... she trusted through his transgressions and though he took them to the wrong place, she remained in the right place under God's wings and Abraham's authority... she placed all her marbles on the Lord and humbly, patiently and quietly waited on the God she trusted to glorify Himself through the lie they were living.

Grace strengthened her to hold on to the light she had. She knew God was trustworthy and He would take a bad thing and working it together for their good. She trusted, rested and waited on Him to bring THEM through. She had no one or anything but the Lord to trust. (Glory... that's the best kind of living in the worst kind of circumstances.)
